UGMORA An Escalate Enterprises brand
For small law firms in Orange County

AI and security, set up right.

The ethics rules now expect your firm to protect client data and supervise how it uses AI. We do the technical work, and your attorneys stay in charge of every decision.

Why now

The rules changed. Most small firms haven’t caught up.

ABA Formal Opinion 512 · July 2024

Lawyers must weigh the risk before putting client information into an AI tool. Tools that learn from what they’re given need the client’s informed consent, and boilerplate in an engagement letter isn’t enough.

State Bar of California

Firms should have a written AI policy, train staff on it regularly, and review an AI tool’s terms and privacy policy before using it on client matters.

ABA 2023 Cybersecurity TechReport

Small firms are the least prepared. Only 19% of solo and 2 to 9 lawyer firms had an incident response plan, and 29% of firms of every size reported a security breach.

How it works

Three steps. Each one earns the next.

Pricing depends on your firm’s size and what it needs. We agree on it in writing before any work starts.

  1. Step 1

    AI and security checkup

We review your email, logins, backups and the AI tools your staff already use.

You get a ranked list of what to fix, a draft AI use policy for your attorneys to approve, and a written summary of your security setup, so you can answer your cyber insurance application accurately.

  2. Step 2

    Setup

We put the fixes in place: two-step sign-in, a password manager, backups, email protection, and an approved AI tool with safe data settings.

It ends with a one-hour training for your staff.

  3. Step 3

    Monthly support

We update your policy when Bar guidance changes, check in every quarter, run phishing training, and help with security questionnaires from clients and insurers.

Plus one new AI workflow each quarter.

What stays with your attorneys

Clear lines, on purpose.

We’re not a law firm.

Augmora doesn’t give legal advice. The AI policy, client consent wording and checklists we prepare are drafts for your attorneys to review, change and approve. Your attorneys sign anything that goes to an insurer or a client. We handle the technical side: accounts, devices, backups, email security and AI tools.

We’re not a help desk either.

We cover what most IT companies skip, the AI policy, the ethics checklist and safe AI setup, and we work alongside the IT company you already have.

Common questions

Do you replace our IT company?

No. We take on the AI policy, the ethics checklist, safe AI setup and insurer questionnaires, and we work alongside the IT company you already have.

Will our client data end up training an AI?

We only set up AI tools whose terms let you keep client information out of training, and we write down the settings we chose so your file shows them.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your firm’s size and what it needs. We agree on the price in writing before any work starts, and the first call is free.

Where do you work?

In person across Orange County and Southern California, and remotely anywhere else.
